They replied, “Believe on the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with your entire
household.”
So the context here is that Paul and Silas were in prison after having been accused
of not following Roman customs. They were publicly beaten and then thrown into prison.
While the were there amazing things happened that caused the jailer to ask of Paul
and Silas
