Daily Passage – Romans 12

Today’s passage is Romans
12
.

The verse that stood out in my mind is:

“Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it
is written, ‘VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY,’ says the Lord. ‘BUT IF YOUR ENEMY IS
HUNGRY, FEED HIM, AND IF HE IS THIRSTY, GIVE HIM A DRINK; FOR IN SO DOING YOU WILL
HEAP BURNING COALS ON HIS HEAD.’ Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with
good.” Romans 12:19-21

This is the opposite of what most people believe. I know often when I get hurt by
someone I want to get revenge and hurt them back but that is God’s right. If my enemies
are in a bad situation I should help them. I know that this is something that I need
to work on because I had a bad relationship with my father and never made an effort
to reach out from my side. Because of this I lost time to spend with him because he
passed away a couple of years ago. This an area I need to work on in my life for sure
and I pray that I will learn what God wants to teach me.
